How to Apply for Financial Aid

1. Admission
2. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
3. Student Aid Report (SAR)

1. Admission

You must be accepted for admission into an eligible degree program at Florida Tech before an offer of financial assistance can be made. If you have not yet applied or completed the application process, you may apply online from the Florida Tech Admissions Web page for prospective students. You may also request information from the admission office at admissions@fit.edu.

2. FAFSA

Students must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is a nationally distributed form that can be submitted to the U.S. Department of Education at no cost on their Web site www.fafsa.ed.gov.  You should be aware that some commercial firms/Web sites do charge a fee to submit this form for you. New students may also get a paper copy from their high school guidance office or their college financial aid office. Continuing students should receive a renewal form in the mail, but they may also complete their renewal FAFSA online. If you have trouble getting the FAFSA, e-mail FinAid@fit.edu or call the Financial Aid Office and we will be happy to send the form to you. Our Title IV School Code is : 001469

3. SAR

You can expect to receive your Student Aid Report within a few days after completing the FAFSA online or within three to four weeks after you mail a paper copy to the U.S. Department of Education. Upon receipt of your SAR, read the cover letter carefully and check all the information for accuracy. Errors or omissions may prevent us from processing your financial aid package and sending you an award letter. Make any needed correction(s) and resubmit to the federal processor. The most common mistake is the student and/or parent fails to sign the form. If you do not receive your SAR within one month after filing your FAFSA, check online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or call (800) 433-3243.
