A guide to using your TRACKS username and new password protocols for accessing Panther Access Web System (PAWS)
To protect sensitive information in PAWS about students, faculty and staff, Florida Tech needs to remain vigilant in providing a secure site for doing business.
You won't login with your Florida Tech ID number and PIN—you'll login using your TRACKS username and a more complex password.
Password requirements for TRACKS accounts have increased from six characters using two character classes, to a minimum of eight characters using three character classes.
Use any combination of lowercase letters (a–z), uppercase letters (A–Z), numbers (0–9) and/or special characters (!, <, >, &, #, $, etc.). International students should remember that computers not using English as the primary language may not recognize all special characters available on your Florida Tech computer.
Every 120 days you'll need to change to a new password, using the same protocol (uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, special characters). Contact the Technology Support Center at (321) 674-7284 or techsupport@fit.edu to have your password reset or to choose a new one after 120 days of use.
Go to PAWS (or click on PAWS from the Florida Tech home page) from a computer connected to the Internet and type in your new username and password.
Information about PAWS can be found on the instruction page.
If you know your old ID number and PIN, you can go to PAWS and click on "Create Alumni/Attended TRACKS Account." This will give you limited access to PAWS (does not include e-mail, U-drive or computer logins).
Contact the Technology Support Center at (321) 674-7284 or techsupport@fit.edu to have your password reset. You'll be locked out of your account for 10 minutes if you fail to enter your correct password 10 times.
