Transfer students must request official transcripts
from all previous institutions to be mailed directly to the Office
of Undergraduate Admission at Florida Tech regardless of whether undergraduate transfer credit
will be requested or not. In general, undergraduate courses taken
at universities outside the United States
and Canada will not be considered for transfer
credit unless complete course descriptions
and syllabi are presented.
Undergraduate transfer credit may be
awarded for courses taken at a college or
university accredited by a regional accrediting
association in the United States, or with
equivalent recognition in the case of a
college or university elsewhere. Flight
credit is transferable, subject to FAA rules
for transferability between schools. Florida
Tech's forgiveness policy is not applicable
to transfer credits.
Undergraduate transfer credit requires
a grade of at least C or equivalent and
a determination that the work is equivalent
to that given at Florida Tech in course
content and hours. Transfer credit for grades
of 'P' or 'S' is subject to the approval
of the University Registrar. If the course
equivalency is questionable, credit may
be granted by equivalency examination.
Credits can be transferred
without being applicable toward the student's
desired degree. Grades and grade points
are not transferable. Credit will not be
awarded for courses listed on a transcript
without a grade, for courses carrying grades
but not credit hours, internships, practica,
vocational/technical courses, correspondence
courses or experiential learning. In most
cases, credit will not be given for courses
completed more than 10 years prior to Florida
Tech enrollment.
All requests for undergraduate transfer credit
must be submitted to the Registrar. All official transcripts and
documents must be submitted prior to the completion of the first
semester of enrollment. Requests for additional undergraduate transfer credit
must be made before the end of the second semester. Requests for
advanced standing must be submitted to the appropriate academic
unit head no later than 45 days after initial registration.
See "Credit
by Examination" in the Florida Tech

on the basis of equivalency exams,
