Applicants to Florida Tech must demonstrate the readiness to succeed in a challenging academic curriculum. Transcripts are the most important element of the application. While no minimum grade point average is specified, the student's GPA must indicate a readiness for college studies in a chosen academic program. Admission will be granted to those applicants who have completed the appropriate coursework that indicates progress towards their chosen field of study.
Transfer Applicants must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. U.S. applicants who have earned less than twenty-four (24) semester hours of credit must submit a high school transcript and SAT I or ACT scores. International applicants with less than twenty-four (24) semester hours of credit must submit a high school transcript and/or appropriate documentation of completion of secondary school from their home country.
Applicants whose native language is not English are required to prove proficiency in English by meeting the one or more of the criteria of the exemption policy as described in the "Languages and Linguistics" section of the catalog.
Applicants for Aviation majors with Flight Training must have in his/her possession an FAA medical certificate from an FAA approved medical examiner prior to the start of flight training at Florida Tech. You can locate an Aviation Medical Examiner in your area through the following FAA Web site: http://ame.cami.jccbi.gov
You will receive both an admission packet and an official evaluation of your transfer credits. Credits currently in progress or credits completed after the official evaluation is sent to you will be evaluated upon arrival to campus.

A campus visit should be on your list of "things to do" when making your decision to transfer. A visit will help you determine how you will fit in at Florida Tech, and how well we will fit your needs. It will also allow you to speak with a professor and an admission counselor to get a clear picture of how your transfer credits will be applied to your degree program and will help determine how long it will take to complete your desired program(s).
