The high school transcript is the most important element of the application. Admission counselors evaluate candidates' applications with a focus on the whole student and whether he or she is prepared to complete several years of rigorous, challenging academic studies.
The criteria include, but are not limited to:
- High school curriculum
- Performance in high school coursework
- Class standing or ranking
- Results of the SAT-I (critical reading and math) or ACT
- Teacher recommendations
- Participation in special classes, clubs or teams that involve research projects and advanced problem-solving techniques
Admission counselors recommend that all students visit campus and schedule an admission interview prior to applying as it helps both the admission counselor and student gauge whether Florida Tech is right for them.
More information about admission requirements available here.
