The Florida Institute of Technology Web
site is often the first interface many individuals have with
our institution. Like all of our official published materials,
it should convey our image accurately and consistently. We
want to make a good “first impression” on site
visitors,by providing, concise information, easy navigation,
professional graphics and a logical flow of information.
All departments and Academic units should follow these standards when creating and updating their Web pages.
In developing our Web Design
Standards guidelines, we outlined the following key objectives:
- Make the page stretch to appropriately fill the viewer’s
screen
- Standardize the presentation of the Graphic Identity
- Provide a consistent interface for the viewer
- Standardize navigation throughout the site
- Identify and feature more content that supports recruitment,
campus, community and research activities
We invite you to use this document as a tool for transforming
the Florida Tech Web site into an accurate and positive representation
of our university—one that serves to educate viewers
and provide them with a gratifying online experience.
These standards were updated in June 2005 by University Publications.
