Registration Information

Admitted students may register online through PAWS.

Schedule for classes can be found here: Behavior Analysis Class Schedule. ABA Online students should only register for courses with sections that start with "W" (i.e. W01, W05, W22, etc..)

Courses will have a required one-hour, weekly online meeting. When registering for classes, the time listed will be your scheduled online meeting time.  Online meeting times are in Eastern time zone (EST/EDT).

Please note: It is important to register for all of the semester courses listed in your plan of study before the add/drop deadline each semester, including the courses that do not begin at the beginning of the semester. All changes to your schedule, including online meeting time changes, must be made before the add/drop deadline each semester.

  1. Log in to PAWS.
  2. Click on the Student tab.
  3. Click on the Registration tab.
  4. Click on Look up classes to add.
  5. Select Search by term (for example: Fall 2021).
  6. Select the appropriate school: Behavior Analysis
  7. Scroll to the course number, ex., 5041, and click View Selections.
  8. This will pull up the entire list of available online meeting sections.
  9. Select the one you'd like to attend for the duration of the course and add it by clicking the appropriate checkbox on the far left.
  10. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Register.

Class meeting times are offered throughout the week, from early morning until late evening. Students needing a specific day and time for the synchronous portion of their course should register early in the registration window for the broadest selection of times and days.

If the time/day combination you would like is full, you must select a different class time.

Students with extraordinary reasons they need entry into a specific full class time should not fill out a closed class form. Instead, these students should contact abaonline@fit.edu. However, if other sections are available, you will be asked to select from among the available times.

Courses Without Online Meetings

These courses are designed to be completed at the student's convenience during the Unit Week, without an additional online meeting in their schedule. Course descriptions can be found in the catalog.

  • BEH 5040 is a preliminary competency assessment and should only be taken in the final semester to assist students in preparing for their Final Program Exam (FPE).
  • BEH 5060-5065 focus on practical applications of Behavior Analysis as it applies to the student's experience.

The course sequence is designed to be progressive in content. Course material learned at the beginning of the Plan of Study sequence should be mastered prior to advancing to subsequent courses. Students must follow the plan exactly to ensure mastery before progressing. Not following the plan may delay graduation, require repeating courses or result in course failure.

Students who demonstrate exemplary performance may take additional electives in semesters 4 through 6 of the M.A. program without prior approval. No student may take more than seven credits in one semester.

Note: Courses that are part of the certificate and the M.A. Behavior Analysis Practice degree program are at the certificate rate.

Requests to drop or withdraw from a course must be received prior to the drop or withdrawal deadline. To drop or withdraw from a course, please contact your program administrators AND submit the proper paperwork BEFORE the drop or withdrawal deadline.

Drop Policy: Students may drop a course by the semester add/drop date. Students dropping a course by this date will receive the tuition credit, and the course will not appear on the student’s permanent academic record. Failure to attend class or verbal notification to the instructor/co-instructor/staff does not constitute an official drop from the course. Please see the Behavior Analysis (5th Edition) academic calendar for add/drop deadlines.

Withdrawal Policy: After the add/drop deadline, students may withdraw from the course by submitting a withdrawal form prior to the withdrawal deadline for the course. Withdrawing during this time period will result in forfeiture of all registration fees paid to the university, and a grade of W will appear on the student’s permanent academic record.

Failure to attend classes or verbal notification to the instructor/co-instructor/staff does not constitute an official withdrawal from the course. Students who do not officially withdraw from a course prior to the withdrawal deadline, and who do not successfully complete the course, will receive a failing grade of F on their permanent academic record.

Please note the ABA Online program’s academic calendar is different from the on-campus or the extended studies academic calendar. Students are responsible for assessing their own situation before the withdrawal deadline and requesting a withdrawal from the course if they, for any reason, will not be able to complete the course.

Program Withdraw: Students who would like to withdraw from the program and do not plan to return should contact abaonline@fit.edu for assistance.
