Theresia H. Schatz
Bio
Ms. Schatz is currently an Executive Recruiter placing C-Suite executives in the airport industry. “Sia” has over 40 years of diverse experience in the Aviation industry, including airline to airport positions at The Port Authority of NY&NJ in a variety of Supervisory and Managerial positions throughout the Aviation Department, including airport operations, administration, and property management at JFK, Newark Liberty, and LaGuardia Airports. Her most recent experience was as a Senior Program Officer in the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) at the Transportation Research Board under The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, D.C., where she managed a variety of current, applied research projects geared to finding current, practical solutions to airport issues in research topics ranging from operations, environmental, business and finance, human resources, safety, policy and planning.
Ms. Schatz is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), a member of the Northeast Chapter, and a Board member of the International American Association of Airport Executives (IAAE). She is also a member of the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA) and is active on the Career Growth and Cargo committees. Ms. Schatz was an Adjunct Professor at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in New York.
In addition, Ms. Schatz has worked for Lufthansa German Airlines at its North American headquarters, JFK International Airport, and trained at their headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, as well as an FBO at Republic Airport, NY, and completed an internship at NYC Aviation Consulting Firm. She holds FAA Private Pilot and Flight Dispatcher Certificates.
She holds an MBA from Baruch College, City University of New York, a B.S. in Aviation Management from Florida Institute of Technology, and an A.A.S in Aerospace Technology from Farmingdale College, State University of New York, where she was recently inducted into the Aviation Hall of Fame.
Sia resides primarily in South Central PA, where she owns a farm with her husband, Michael, and their rescue pup, Adelaide. They have two adult children, Erich and Michele.
