Bio
Staff Engineer, Integrity Programs
Andrew Ollikainen is Staff Engineer for Structures and Subsystem Integrity Programs at the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, Florida. Ollikainen develops probabilistic reliability and risk models of aerospace structures and sub-systems to inform initial and continued airworthiness.
Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Ollikainen was a member of the Air Force Civilian Service at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. Ollikainen managed the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program for the C-17 Globemaster III fleet and worked as a liaison engineer for the C-130 Hercules Systems Program Office. For his support during the Global War on Terror, Ollikainen received the Air Force Command Civilian Award for Valor, and the Air Force Civilian Achievement Award. Ollikainen also received multiple unit engineer of the year awards.
Ollikainen took his PhD in aerospace engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida, his master’s of mechanical engineering from Mercer University, Macon Georgia, and a bachelor’s in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia. In addition, Ollikainen earned a Master of Military Operational Art and Science from the Air Command and Staff College and is a graduate of the Squadron Officer’s School, both at Maxwell AFB, Alabama.
Ollikainen is a Life-Member and Chairs the Nondeterministic Approaches Technical Committee of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and is a member of the Georgia Institute of Technology Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni. Ollikainen is active in local mentorship programs and established the Dr. & Mrs. Andrew C. Ollikainen Regent’s Engineering Pathways Scholarship at Middle Georgia State University, Macon Georgia which supports non-traditional engineering students in an economically disadvantaged area.
