The most unique places inspire Dr. Sungjin Park. As the president and CEO of The Vine Corporation, he created technology that was inspired by an unlikely source: the bobcat. The Vine Corporation offers “Voice Improvement Neural Engine” software solutions that improve the audio clarity of cell phones and other electronic devices. When Dr. Park learned the bobcat has a keen sense of hearing and the ability to catch very small signals that other animals cannot detect, he went on to develop the “Consonant Restoration” filter. This catches very small consonant signals and restores them in real time. The filter has been patented and licensed to more than fifty million devices.
Dr. Park was featured in Florida Tech’s 60thAnniversary special edition book, “60 for 60: Celebrating Sixty Years of Alumni at Florida Institute of Technology.”
