What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?
I recently separated from the USAF after 10.5 years of service. In my time in the military, I was the Lead Engineer of the Wide Field of View Satellite Bus, in Los Angeles, CA, a Professor of Astronautical Engineering and Physical Education instructor for yoga, soccer and jiu-jitsi based combatives at the United States Air Force Academy and finally a Program Manager for a Multi-Domain Command and Control System being built to support Space and Missile Defense in Huntsville, AL. I have now moved into the contractor world and am working as a Program Director with TEC Solutions. This job allows me to continue a career in Space and Missile Defense in both the engineering and Program Management sides of DoD Programs.
How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?
The Masters in Ops Research continues to help me primarily with critical thinking and the way I view any complex problem. Everything we do can be optimized; this degree allows me continually find more efficient and better ways to deliver capability to our nation’s warfighters.
What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?
I didn’t attend Florida Tech in person, so my “memories” are limited. However, I will speak to the kindness and overall general care received from all staff and other students.
Please share any advice you have for current Florida Tech students.
The world is an ever changing place. The degree of education you receive may or may not teach you to be an expert in your individual pursuits. However, it will always teach you more about yourself, how to think critically and prepare you for some of the world’s most difficult tasks. The degree and time is school is much more than the education, make sure you use it as such.
