What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?
While I can't attribute my professional success entirely to my education, it definitely gave me a leg up in completing projects and leading teams. As I retired from the Air Force my academic chops definitely helped get my foot in the door for several interviews. Being asked about how my coursework applied to the position was a breeze given the broad application of the Technology Management field of study. I had several recruiters ask me for informal reviews of our school and asked if I would have studied there again, the answer was of course, Absolutely!
How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?
Florida Tech allowed me to grow my skills as a leader and thinker. My coursework opened my eyes to new ways of looking at problems and the methods we as humans can use to solve them.
What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?
At about the half way point in my journey to a MS the Air Force selected me for a permanent change of station. Without taking any time off, I moved across the country and started a new job. When I start meeting my new co-workers some names were seeming very familiar...turned out I had two co-workers in my class with me. Talk about a small world!
Please share any advice you have for current Florida Tech students.
Just keep swimming! Aside from major life altering events, earning your degree(s) is likely not going to become easier over time. Study diligently and keep making progress, even if its only one class per semester.
