What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?
I served in the US Army after graduating from 2012-2018. I served in a myriad of positions including Infantry, Intelligence and later Cyber Warfare. I returned to school in 2019 and earned my Master's Degree in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (which I chose partly because it reminded me of FIT). I currently work as a computer scientist for the US Navy. I am primarily a software developer for analysis tools used on RADAR systems. I have been married since 2015 to a wonderful wife, and have two amazing children.
How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?
I learned the importance of teamwork, problem solving skills, and leadership. I also made some very supportive friends. I would not be where I am today without them.
What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?
I remember freshman orientation very well. I didn't know it then, but I met some of my best and lifelong friends that week.
Was there a mentor or professor who had a big impact on you personally and/or professionally?
My advisor, Dr. Rusovici, was a very intelligent and respectful professor. I also have very fond memories of Dr. David Fleming's courses. He was a challenging professor but I learned a lot about myself and my ability to solve problems.
Please share any advice you have for current Florida Tech students.
Work hard, and always treat everyone with dignity and respect, especially yourself. These may seem like abstract ideals to strive for, but if you earnestly try everyday of your professional life, amazing things will happen.
