What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?

Never give up, knock on doors, and volunteer! Volunteering leads to ambition, ambition leads to goals which leads to dreams. Currently, I am a nurse who is pursuing a Human Services Degree, then onto a Masters and Doctorate Degree, with patience. I say what I say because when you and your higher power come together dreams can happen! Let’s not forget personal health, family first, work-life balance, studies and much more! Pursue your goals and dreams and do not let anyone stop you or get in your way. Get a mentor to guide you through your rough times and lean on your professors. They are there for a reason and not to get paid, FIT professor’s care about their students and want the best for their students. P.S. Study soft, learn a lot, keep shining and smiling with support from encouraging people. When the storm comes, let it rain, thunder, lightning and crash and remember the rain clouds pass, sun shines and the beach is only :10 minutes away.

How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?

Taught me that diversity is settled all around. Continued growth with ROTC (Army)*, don’t give up on knocking on doors even though you can get discouraged. Volunteer even though time doesn’t allow. Never give up hope on your higher power, yourself, get a mentor, and keep climbing the mountain.

What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?

ROTC, “Falling Stars” ✨ in the morning, and evening hours, Meter Showers, International Festivals, Tennis Courts plus Pool/Gym. Great cohorts that keep you focused.

Was there a mentor or professor who had a big impact on you personally and/or professionally?

Yes. ROTC, Major Lewis plus a few others names (can’t remember). My professors. Can’t remember their names.

Please share any advice you have for current Florida Tech students.
