What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?
I have just received my Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation in August 2023. This is the highest designation that someone can received in the actuarial profession. Having this designation will allow me to start having direct reports in a few years and become a product lead in my department. I also just started a job at LGA in January 2024 working remotely while being based out of AL. Personally, my wife Caroline (Florida Tech Grad '15) and I are enjoying our time in AL and the community we are building here! I also started training for an Ironman and planning on completing one Fall 2025. I plan on doing this with my one of close friends from Florida Tech that was on the swim team and same fraternity as me.
How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?
I learned to balance my time very efficiently through my coursework and other extracurricular activities that I was apart of at Florda Tech. These time management skills have allowed me to juggle professional exams on top of my normal workload through my jobs.
What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?
Mixture of a lot of things, ranging from all of the different people and cultural backgrounds I met in college. As well as many memories from Greek life (winning Greek wife senior year) and swim team (breakfast with the team after Saturday morning practice).
Was there a mentor or professor who had a big impact on you personally and/or professionally?
No one person in particular comes to mind. However, I felt that the students in the math department were very hard working and high achievers. Which in return, drove me to become a better student and worker which paid off in graduate school and at my jobs after college.
Please share any advice you have for current Florida Tech students.
Use your time in college to explore as many different experiences as you can. These connections and memories can last a lifetime and broaden your world knowledge/view. For example, I got to go to a wedding in Israel from one of my friends on the swim team at Florida Tech!
