What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?

After I graduated Florida Tech, I got a job at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida ( Now known as Florida Blue) in Jacksonville, Florida as a IT Systems Analyst. I have been at Florida Blue for over 17 years now holding various positions throughout the company. I started my career in IT and eventually went over to the business side where I now lead a team of Product Mangers on our Digital Transformation team. Florida Blue has offered me many opportunities to grow myself professionally and personally.

How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?

Florida Tech taught me that hard work truly does pay off. During my freshman year, I underestimated the amount of work it was going to take to be successful in college. In my later years, I learned the valuable lesson that putting in the time and effort into something will create rewarding opportunities. I carried that lesson into my professional career and it has truly paid off.

What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?

My favorite Florida Tech memory revolves around the great friendships I was able to make during my 4 years there. I remember the late night cramming sessions that involved a lot of food and the countless nights just hanging out and building on those relationships.

Please share any advice you have for current Florida Tech students.

Put in the time and effort to get the most out of your experience at Florida Tech. That includes academically and personally. I always lived by the motto that if I work really hard for the 4 years I was in college, it would give me the opportunities to create a great life for myself and my family.
