What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?
After earning my master's degree from the Florida Institute, I continued my service in the military and was fortunate to participate in a highly selective program. I was also privileged to attend the prestigious Army's Sergeant Major Academy, the final noncommissioned officer school in the Army. Throughout my journey, I've had the honor of leading Soldiers from diverse backgrounds, including transportation and explosive ordnance units. My experiences have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to effectively lead Soldiers, support their families, and fulfill my commanders' objectives in achieving the overall Army mission. My responsibilities also included ensuring the readiness of Soldiers, as well as obtaining necessary supplies, vehicles, and equipment for the battlefield.
How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?
I was selected to attend to the Industry Based Broadening: Logistics (IB2LOG). The IB2-LOG SBS connects participants with real-world experts and provides a state-of-the-art experience focused on innovation, culture change, data utilization, and the role of AI in addressing supply chain and logistics challenges. This exposure inspires fresh ideas and critical thinking to tackle future warfare demands effectively.
What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?
The group projects allow participants to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a rich learning experience.
Was there a mentor or professor who had a big impact on you personally and/or professionally?
Dr. Janice Spangenburg understood the challenges that we, as active duty soldiers, face when trying to manage work and pursue higher education.
Please share any advice you have for current Florida Tech students.
One piece of advice I can give to current students is to take advantage of any programs that Florida Tech has to offer. Participate in events and connect with other alumni in your field or a related one. You could also participate in workshops with industry professionals to gain valuable insights and best practices.
