What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?
Three months post-graduation, I started my full-time job with the US Navy at the Office of Naval Intelligence as an All-Source Analyst. When I started this position, I relocated to Washington, DC. I'm excited to see where the Office of Naval Intelligence will take me and my new journey in Washington, DC. I have started a small photography account and started a new position on the side. I have been taking pictures with college players for the last year, and I started taking photos of my friends when I came home. Since then, whenever I get the chance to take out my camera, I do, and then post on my new account. Feel free to give me a follow @allison.polaroids
How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?
Having experience in every field of Ocean Engineering gives me a leg up as an analyst, as I bring a very different perspective to the table when analyzing different products and information.
What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?
Starting and building the Panther Spirit Squad to what it is today. That team is my pride and joy, and I'm so glad I brought Cheer and Dance back to Florida Tech for the first time since COVID-19. I'm excited to see the team's future with the foundation that the first executive board and I set up.
Was there a mentor or professor who had a big impact on you personally and/or professionally?
I had many mentors throughout my time. First, Victor Perez, the most amazing Club advisor out there for all club sports, supported me throughout the start-up of Panther Spirit Squad and everyone on the team. He is our mentor, coach, and family to all of us. Second, Dr. Wood, as the senior design professor and advisor to the Ocean Engineering students, was a great mentor for many students. Not to mention that is Hydroacoustics course has helped me a great deal post-graduation. Finally, Jessica Applewhite, who was my boss in the admissions office my senior year. She was amazing at her job but also amazing at supporting every single student ambassador inside and outside the office.
