Extracurricular Activities:Since I was a Virtual Graduate student, I did not participate in any school teams or organizations.
What career or personal update would you like to give to your fellow Florida Tech Panthers alumni?
Since graduating, about 20 years ago now, I have been able to apply the education attained at Florida Tech to contribute to the success of many projects as a technology supply chain and logistics consultant and subject matter expert for several companies supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) missions. Over the past few years, I’ve pivoted a little from logistics to supply chain management, and more specifically, supply chain risk management, which, for the government, is primarily focused on the risks associated with acquiring and maintaining information and communications technology (ICT). On a personal note, I also just celebrated 20 years of marriage with my wife and my daughter recently completed her undergraduate degree and is pursuing a master's degree in psychology/mental health counseling.
How did your time at Florida Tech help get you to where you are today?
Aside from the direct application of the course content which has been immediately relevant to every job I've had, I'd say, pursuing my master's virtually at Florida Tech greatly prepared me for the new work from anywhere environment that was greatly accelerated during the COVID pandemic. I think at the time, virtual education and formats and accommodating technology platforms were still fairly new but are now commonplace. I'm sure completing the rigorous virtual program at Florida Tech contributed to my comfort with working, collaborating, and delivering quality products remotely.
What is your favorite Florida Tech memory?
Since I was a virtual student, I'd have to say, attending graduation on campus was my favorite experience. I had a great time and was fortunate enough to have my wife, mother, aunt, sister, and daughter in the audience to witness the ceremony.
Was there a mentor or professor who had a big impact on you personally and/or professionally?
Unfortunately, the names of the professors and faculty that assisted me don't readily come to mind but I appreciate the support that I received from everyone I encountered during my time there.
Please share any advice you have for current Florida Tech students.
Though it may be tough at times, try to enjoy the journey and avail yourself of all of the resources and opportunities that you possibly can. You won't regret it.
