Brecken Cornely, Ph.D, BCBA-D

Bio

Dr. Cornely earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wofford College in 2014, where she conducted undergraduate research in the Behavioral Processes lab with mice and pigeons. She then earned her Master of Arts in Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2016. Dr. Cornely completed her Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Behavior Analysis at Capella University in September 2023. Her interests lie in Organization Behavior Management (OBM), specifically in training and decision-making. Dr. Cornely’s dissertation focused on training behavior analysts to use a decision-making model to determine intervention categories for staff performance based on Performance Diagnostic Checklist-Human Services (PDC-HS) results. She also has over 10 years of clinical experience providing applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder across a variety of settings.

Dr. Cornely is currently a BCBA-Doctoral and has served as an Instructor in the ABA Online Program since 2018. She is also Co-Owner and Director of Behavior Analyst Development at Building Independence Together, LLC. In addition to these roles, she has also served as a Content Contributor for ABA Technologies, Inc. and as the OBM special interest group leader for the South Carolina Applied Behavior Analysis (SCABA) chapter.
