It's On Us Initiative

Universities across the country are grappling with the issue of sexual assault on their campuses and Florida Tech is no exception. Preventing sexual assault at our university and in our society requires Florida Tech students, staff and faculty to act, collaborate, and speak out against sexual violence. Together we can educate our community about sexual violence, empower our peers to be active bystanders, and prevent sexual assault at Florida Tech. We all play a role in prevention. Prevention is everyone's responsibility, and together, we can make a difference.

What is It’s On Us?

It's On Us is a national campaign aimed at raising awareness and bringing an end to sexual assault on college campuses. Florida Tech is joining the cultural movement aimed at fundamentally shifting the way people think about sexual assault.

It’s On Us encourages people to sign a pledge to help create a culture of consent, bystander intervention survivor support.

The "It's On Us" pledge is:

  • To recognize that non-consensual sex is assault;
  • To identify situations in which sexual assault may occur;
  • To intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given;
  • To create an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable, and survivors are supported.

Campus Resources

If you or someone you know has experienced a sexual assault, or even if you are not sure if what happened to you or your friend is considered sexual assault, there are several resources on campus available to assist you.
