Transportation
Florida Tech Facilities Operations oversees the maintenance of fleet vehicles, golf carts, construction equipment, and other transportation equipment. The trolley and shuttle system is under the responsibility of the department as well, servicing our students, faculty, staff, and visitors daily.
Florida Tech Solar Golf Carts
Florida Tech Facilities Operations golf carts are powered by our Solar Charging System which offsets the power required to charge our tradesperson’s carts daily!
Renting an LSV Golf Cart
Facilities Operations provides a centralized golf cart and low-speed vehicle (LSV) fleet for shared use by faculty and staff. Faculty and staff may reserve a cart, stored at the South Campus Parking Structure, for official university business using the LSV Request Form. Users will pick up and return keys at the Facilities Office during normal business hours. A key return box is available for after-hours and weekends. The LSV carts are licensed vehicles like a car or truck and therefore require a valid driver’s license and Florida Tech MVR approval. Use of the carts is free. Prior to requesting a cart, all users must complete the Golf Cart training and review the golf cart and LSV guidelines. Users are required to follow and when operating a cart. Renting a Van
Facilities Operations provides a centralized van fleet for shared use by faculty and staff. Faculty and staff may reserve a vehicle, stored at the end of lot 20, for official university business using the Vehicle Request Form. Users will pick up and return keys at the Facilities Office during normal business hours. A key return box is available for after-hours and weekends. The vans are licensed vehicles like a car or truck and therefore require a valid driver’s license and Florida Tech MVR approval. Use of the vans is free. Prior to requesting a vehicle, all users must complete the Van Safety training. For all forms, policies and training mentioned above please see below.
