The Indian River Lagoon Research Institute at Florida Tech seeks support for the community-based Living Docks initiative. The concept, termed the “Living Dock,” focuses on enhancing existing structures to encourage the settlement of benthic filtration organisms. Living Docks at its core is an estuarine habitat restoration initiative that focuses on community engagement. To date the IRLRI working with community stakeholders has transitioned over 15 docks into Living Docks.

Donations will be used to support the Living Docks Initiative developed by the IRL Research Institute at Florida Tech. Funds will go toward expanding Living Docks sites, supporting graduate students, and fundamental research into the impacts and effectiveness of the habitat restoration project.
