Improving Courses & Programs
- You should have completed a course evaluation for most, if not all, of your courses by now. Identify subjects that you would like to either teach better or add/substitute an activity that will enhance your teaching effectiveness. E-mail Jim Brenner at jbrenner@fit.edu the syllabi for courses you would like to improve by the addition of one or two activities. He will help you navigate the KEEN card decks to identify activities developed by KEEN partners that are appropriate for those subjects.
- If you are either a program chair or above or your program's ABET coordinator, please send an e-mail with areas that you, your program faculty, and/or your ABET visitor identified as areas that could be improved. Schedule 20 minutes of a faculty meeting with one of our KEEN core team's department representatives. Seven of those minutes will be spent introducing faculty to KEEN resources, three minutes will be spent on how to integrate ABET, SACS, and KEEN outcomes with minimal additional work, and the rest will be spent discussing "low hanging fruit" for course and program improvements.
