Scholarships

The Army offers the opportunity to earn scholarships for all four-years of undergraduate or two-years of graduate school.

Whether you're a college-bound high school student or already attending a college or university,  Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's merit and grades, not financial need. We have a number of scholarship opportunities to help pay your way through college:

  • National program (4- & 3- year scholarship)
  • Campus based program (3.5- to 2- year scholarship)
  • Lateral Entry 2- year program (w/ ROTC Basic Camp requirement)
  • Guaranteed Reserve Forces Program
  • Dedicated National Guard/Army Reserve Scholarship Program

Full Tuition & Fees or Housing & Meals Scholarships 

Army ROTC Scholarship Awardee will have two scholarship choices: Full Tuition & Fees or Housing & Meals. 

Full Tuition & Fees. The scholarship pays full tuition & fees every semester and provides $1200/yr for books and a stipend of $420/mo. Additionally, Florida Tech includes housing & meals for all scholarship winners. 

Housing & Meals. The scholarship pays $5000 to the student every semester and provides $1200/yr for books and a stipend of $420/mo. It is the responsibility of the awardee to pay all tuition and fees. 

National ROTC Scholarship Program

The 4- and 3- year scholarship is intended for those college and high school students who have four years of undergraduate education remaining before graduation.

The scholarship covers full tuition, provides $1200/yr for books, and $420/mo of the school year in spending money. Florida Tech provides free housing and meals for ROTC scholarship students.

These scholarships are highly competitive and applicants who are accepted generally have cumulative GPA's greater than 3.5, test scores in the 24+ ACT and 1250+ SAT range. They are typically involved in multiple extra-curricular activities both in school and outside of school. A physically fit and academically well-rounded high school student should excel in this program.

Campus Based Scholarship Program

Campus based scholarships are awarded to enrolled ROTC cadets who compete for the opportunity. They are based on college GPA, physical fitness scores, and demonstrated leadership abilities, in addition to all usual ROTC requirements. Cadets are interviewed and placed on an order of merit list for available funds, in ranges from 3.5- to 2- years worth of benefits.

Full Tuition & Fees. The scholarship pays full tuition & fees every semester and provides $1200/yr for books and a stipend of $420/mo. Additionally, Florida Tech includes housing & meals for all scholarship winners.

Housing & Meals. The scholarship pays $5000 to the student every semester and provides $1200/yr for books and a stipend of $420/mo. It is the responsibility of the awardee to pay all tuition and fees. 

Lateral Entry 2-Year Scholarship Program

The 2-year scholarship is intended for those students who have two years of undergraduate or graduate education remaining before graduation. Also, students applying for the 2-year scholarship must have either completed the ROTC Basic Course (MS I & MS II courses), 3- or 4- years of Junior ROTC, or they must have prior military service (basic training qualified).

Full Tuition & Fees. The scholarship pays full tuition & fees every semester and provides $1200/yr for books and a stipend of $420/mo. Additionally, Florida Tech includes housing & meals for all scholarship winners.

Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty Scholarship

The Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty Scholarship program (also known as GRFD) is designed for students/cadets with maximum 2 years remaining on their undergraduate or graduate degree and are interested in obtaining a commission in the United States Army National Guard or Reserves.

Interested students must be willing to enlist in the ARNG or USAR. If the student is currently enlisted in the ARNG or USAR, we will work with your current command to have you converted to a cadet status. Recipients of this scholarship must also agree to serve in the Army National Guard or Army Reserve after commissioning for a period of not less than eight years.

Dedicated National Guard/Army Reserve Scholarship

The Dedicated National Guard Scholarship program is designed for students/cadets with maximum 3 years remaining on their undergraduate or graduate degree and are interested in obtaining a commission in the United States Army National Guard (also known as the ARNG) or Army Reserve by allowing them to receive an early guarantee for such an assignment.
