Deztynee Bryan

Bio

Meet Deztynee! She is a Senior studying Meteorology in the College of Engineering & Science. Originally from Anguilla, she chose Florida Tech because of its tropical meteorology research opportunities and the faculty specializing in this field. Florida Tech’s location and weather, as well as its accreditation and academic reputation, sealed the deal. The campus offers a diverse and welcoming community that made Deztynee fit right in and feel like it’s a home away from home. As a President’s Ambassador, she hopes to align her passion for leadership, diversity, and community engagement with the program’s goals. Deztynee is excited to highlight the rich campus culture and give back to Florida Tech in this role. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to study hurricanes.

Her favorite thing about Florida Tech: “The university's effort towards academic excellence. As a community that values academic excellence, there is enough room for the "magic" to occur. Also, I really like the flora and fauna on campus, especially the bunnies.”

Her involvement at Florida Tech: Florida Tech American Meteorological Society Student Chapter (President), Student Government Association (Academic Committee Chair & Senator), Phi Eta Sigma, Honors College

Her involvement off campus: United States National Science Foundation Significant Opportunities for Atmospheric Research and Science (SOARS) Protégé, American Meteorological Society national chapter committees (Student Conference Planning Committee, Student Outreach and Engagement Committee, 21st Conference on Major Weather Impacts Program Chair)
